Tutor

Since 2000 Huub is a principle tutor in the Professional Training for Dutch patent attorneys. In the period from 1990 to 2005 he was involved in the Philips’ internal trainings for patent attorney trainees and was a CEIPI tutor for the Papers A and B.

Career

From 1974 to 1977 Huub was a patent attorney trainee at the Patent Department of Philips. In the period from 1977 to 1982 he was established as an independent professional and was a teacher in physics at a grammar school. From 1982 to 2006 he was a (senior) patent attorney at the Patent Department of Philips.

Huub has experience in a variety of IPR aspects, such as drafting patent applications, defending patent applications, opposing patents, appealing against decisions, patent counselling, evaluating patent rights, assessing third party products, patent licensing. During the periods at the Patent Department of Philips Huub was active in a wide range of technical areas, such as lighting, domestic appliances, solar panels, electric motors, manufacturing technologies, magnetic recording, magnetic heads and sensors, hearing aids, optical recording, speakers.
