Paper D Materials
Questions and Answers, now including a legal Study Guide
An essential part of D preparation is to practice applying the law by answering many questions. Each year, DeltaPatents issue a set of its Questions and Answers books - considered by many to be essential to passing paper D. Each edition is completely updated to take into account recent changes in EPC and PCT law, and developing Case Law.
In July/August 2011 a new edition will be published. This edtion will be suitable for candidates, preparing for the EQE 2012.
This set will also include a comprehensive Study Guide with references to the essential reading for each module - the key topics, the relevant articles and rules, Guidelines and Applicants Guide sections, full text and headnotes of case law, and OJEPO notices/decisions. And a list of abbreviations, wich may also be used in your answer on the EQE.
The questions are divided in to two parts to reflect the stages in preparation:
- Part I: Study Guide and Basic Questions- Approximately 600 questions to test the absorption and comprehension of studied EPC and PCT topics. They are usually limited in scope to a single legal concept to match with a modular learning approach.
- Part II: Exam-Related Questions - Approximately 350 questions test the abilility to analyze complex legal situations, and to apply legal concept to arrive at a desired answer. They usually cover more than one legal concept, requiring a thorough knowledge of the EPC and PCT. Approximately 125 of these questions have been adapted from previous DI Exam Papers.
Erratum
Unfortunately, we missed updating the references to the PCT applicants guide in some of our answers. This appears to be mainly in our Exam-Related Questions book.

Analysis and Model Solutions
DeltaPatents' tutors have developed for all Exam Papers very detailed and thorough Analysis and Model Solutions. The Model Solutions provide the correct answer to the respective papers as well as a structured methodology for finding the answer. The exam papers have been updated to the EPC2000. The updated papers are part of the set.
For Paper DI we provide a set with the papers of 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
For Paper DII we provide separate Model Solutions for the years 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
