Training for EPAC

The EPAC Training course consists of a series of 14 half-day online sessions, with interactive presentations and homework by which candidates can further develop their knowledge, understanding and skill. Candidates will need to have sufficient time available to make the homework to benefit optimally from the course. By providing the sessions already in March 2025, participants will have sufficient time to prepare for the exam. By using half-day sessions, the amount of new information per session is kept at a manageable level. By using an online format, participants can take part from all over Europe – or even outside.

Materials

A comprehensive set of high quality, up-to-date training materials will be provided including:

Flowcharts that visually explain the various procedures, summarize the steps to be taken and show parts of official letters of the Patent Offices
EPC Reading Material – a very thorough set of reading material comprising: Relevant excerpts of the “European Patent Guide”, Relevant excerpts of the “Guidelines for Examination” and Annexes
EPC Questions & Answers that contains a full set of questions and answers in the EPC part of the exam
The presentations slides used during the course – EPC and PCT part

To practice for the exam:

Cases and questions (open and multiple choice) and ‘Life of a file’ to assist participants in internalising the information.
Learn how to work with WISEflow, the system for the EPAC exam.

Please note: The course materials for EPAC 2025 will be updated to align with the latest Guidelines which will become public later this year. As a result, during the initial months, participants will receive the updated materials in digital format. Once the full set of course books is finalized, hard copies will be distributed to all participants.

When to register?

This courses has limited participant slots. To ensure your place, we highly recommend registering as early as possible.

This course includes the shipment of physical materials. To ensure timely delivery, we recommend that candidates enroll at least two weeks prior to the course start date, subject to availability. Late registrations may result in delays in receiving course materials. Please note that digital copies of the materials will not be provided in such cases.
