This course focuses on a structured methodology for handling the most common situations in the M4 exam, combined with extensive practice using cases and modified full papers from past exams. By the end of the course, you will have a clear understanding of how to extract the information you need. You will also learn what needs to be included in your answers to secure marks, based on a proven, systematic approach to generating high-quality responses. Where relevant, we will use WISEflow, giving you the opportunity to become familiar with the system used during the EQE.

Preparing for paper M4 involves a lot of practice. The focus of the paper is giving advice to a client, but this involves a correct analysis of the client’s situation and an explanation of what improvements can be made, in addition to an assessment of how the client’s and the competitor’s IP rights affect the client’s business.  A correct analysis of the situation in a short period of time requires efficient extraction and organisation of information.  Scoring well on the exam requires formulating and presenting your answer with a sufficient level of detail. How much detail to provide in each of the different aspects can be difficult to judge on your own.

In this course, you submit a homework paper (in WISEflow) before the course begins and receive personalised feedback from the tutor on your submitted work. The feedback is objective, specific to your answer and answering style, and highlights any aspects of your M4 preparation that you should focus on.

During the course, we will discuss the homework paper and frequently made errors. The DeltaPatents methodology will be explained and we will do some smaller cases and a further “full” paper, step-by-step, putting the methodology into practice. The practice cases and papers are taken from previous D2 exams, updated and adapted for M4.  These interactive sessions are also an opportunity to ask questions and gain familiarity with the EQE exam system (Wiseflow) ahead of the real exam.

Practice a few weeks before the real exam in order to adjust your method, on papers as close as possible to the final exam. Get an evaluation on your level for each paper, thanks to a personalized marking of each paper, comments and advices from the tutor, in particular on the methodology used and the structure of your answer.
Based on the outcome, make final adjustments to your methodology before the exam.

Um in der Prüfung gut abzuschneiden, ist es notwendig, die Antworten mit einem angemessenen Detaillierungsgrad zu formulieren und zu präsentieren. Es kann schwierig sein, selbst einzuschätzen, wie detailliert die verschiedenen Aspekte behandelt werden sollten.

In diesem Kurs reichen Sie vor Kursbeginn eine Hausarbeit (in WISEflow) ein und erhalten vom Tutor individuelles Feedback zu Ihrer eingereichten Arbeit. Das Feedback ist objektiv, auf Ihre Antwort und Ihren Schreibstil zugeschnitten und zeigt auf, auf welche Aspekte Ihrer M4-Vorbereitung Sie sich besonders konzentrieren sollten.

Während des Kurses besprechen wir die Hausarbeit sowie häufig gemachte Fehler.
